upgrading from windows 95 to windows 98 or 2000

My mother in law has a old computer and is tring to
upgrade from windows 95 to windows 98 or 2000 so she can
use her printer adn everytime i try to run the startup
disk for them it gives me a message that says
Installaation is not supported for windows 95. I need to
know is there any other way to change the operating
systeme in her computer?

Looks like you will have to do a complete clean installation, you didn't say
what resources the machine has
but that will be the deciding factor for what OS you put on it,

If 95 runs on it OK then almost certainly 98SE will, But W2K does need a
fastish processor and an adequate amount of ram, Also when installed will
take up approx 1.6 Gig of hard drive space for a full installation
