Upgrading from Outlook 2000 to 2007

Are there any steps I need to follow to be sure that my folders, contacts and
any inbox messages get caried over during a upgrade? I looked on the net and
on MS Help & Support site but could not find any guidance.

You don't want them "carried over" by any passive or automated process. You
must migrate them yourself using the same instructions we post here every
day:

Data is not changed during an uninstal or upgrade but a backup is allways
wise.
PS The data file will not be upgraded so you will probably be wise to, in
OL2007 to create a new unicode data file then copy data from the old data
file to the new.

While data might not be changed, it most certainly is not transferred
correctly in an upgrade scenario.
