Hi. I'm technically not new to XP. I use it all the time. What I am ne
to is upgrading. I have a computer at work that's running 2000 Pro an
I want to put XP on it. My question is when I put XP, will this eras
all files that are already on the drive? Also, will I have to reinstal
software? Thanks in advance.

No, you will not lose any files or software that is already installed (
unless its Not compaitable with XP, shouldnt have problem with most of the
software)
But you might need the updated Drivers for your hardware installed which the
upgrading process will ask you to provide them when you do the installation.

WinXP is designed to install and upgrade the existing operating
system while simultaneously preserving your applications and data, and
translating as many personalized settings as possible. The process is
designed to be, and normally is, quite painless. That said, things
can go wrong, in a small number of cases. If your data is at all
important to you, back it up before proceeding.
