Upgrading from 2000 to 2003

I'm upgrading my Office 2000 to 2003 this weekend and I know that my Outlook
Contacts and other Office data is all in one big file.

Trouble is, I can't remember the file extension.

Is it .pst for Office 2000, please?

Yes.
The file you need to back up is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's
where all the mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.
