Just had a reminder from e-Trust to upgrade from 6.2 to latest version which
I think is 7. Tried the upgrade following their instructions to the letter
a long while back and found it screwed everything up so reverted back to 6.2
with a lot of hassle. Was so long back can't remember the details of what
went wrong.

They say they are now ending support for 6.1, though not presumably for 6.2.
Is there anything in v 7 to make it worth the hassle of trying the upgrade
again? Cheers.

Well, for what it's worth (little) the new version 7 has finally settled
down - there were lots of problems with server connections for automatic
updates etc. Also problems with pure registration and licensing issues, but
that now seems resolved. I upgraded right after the beta test program and
had a fair bit of grief at first, but all is well now. I would think v7
updates (signatures) might be the first out of the chute when new signatures
are needed, so I would think it advisable to upgrade.

I upgraded to version 7.0.5.3 back in January and have not had any problems
with the new version except for one minor quirk. When I turn on my computer
the email scan is turned off, but it comes right back on after I run the
internet
update, which is the first thing I do everyday, so it is not a problem for
me. I
don't worry about scanning email as I have rules set up to only allow email
from people in my address book and I tell them to only send me plain text
email with no attachments. Just to be on the safe side I set my email
program
to display everything in plain text and I delete anything with an
attachment.
