How do I apply the updated templates to my Win2k AD. Do
I remove and add in the XP templates directly to the
Default Domain Policy? If I create new GPO's and insert
the WinXP teplates will it be global like the Default?

You can simply copy the system.adm file from the \windows\inf directory of a
Windows XP workstation to the \windows\inf directory of a server, and you
have make them defaults , and then launch the Group Policy Object Editor.

So, if I want to add newer settings to my AD based
policies, I do the task below. But wouldn't I then be
losing all of the settings I have already created in the
existing policy?

No. The Administrative Templates files (*.adm) are only templates. You
current GPO Settings is stored within Active Directory and the SYSVOL Share

I want to add the follow:

Make sure you update the Administrative Templates in the %windir%\inf folder
of all your Windows2000 Domain Controllers so you have same version of the
files.
