I am running on Windows XP Home Edition. I have a SOYO
TISU motherboard that restarts BIOS after the beep several
times before loading Windows XP. I want to upgrade the
motherboard to an Intel 815E chipset and a Celeron 1.3gh
processor. If I replace the motherboard and processor and
leave everything else as is will I have any problems with
the XP Activation stuff, and if so what do I do about it?

You will be asked to activate windows but that should be no problem. Just
activate as normal over the internet. If activation is refused, which i
doubt, then call the free/toll free number that appears onscreen and simply
explain that you have upgraded some of your hardware.
I've replaced my motherboard, hard drive, etc and not had any problem
reactivating.

i have replaced hardware and been questioned like a criminal for
reactivating software that belongs to me.
i am considering a new processor and will have to re activate for about the
tenth time since i bought xp.

this really pisses me off because you are on the phone for ages. the last
time i rang i got, "mr.walker, you seem to have activated your copy of
windows rather alot"

cheeky bastards. so what. it's mine!
