Upgraded to XP Pro, now 'My Computer' not Working

I just upgraded to XP Pro from Win2000 Pro. The 'My Computer' module dosen't work properly. When I click on My Computer either from the desktop, start menu or from within Windows Explorer, all I get is a blank screen with the little flashlight scanning back and forth across a folder icon. After 4.5 minutes (I've timed it and its the same everytime) I finally get the drive icons. 'My Computer' worked perfectly while running Win2000 Pro.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the quick response and the help. I performed the XP repair per the instructions. It appeared to work perfectly with no glitches. However, when done, the 'My Computer' module still didn't work. It still worked as previously stated. All other XP functions seem to be working perfectly. Any additional ideas
