Why is Windows XP doing that? The motherboard perfectly recognizes it the CPU as the Athlon XP2000+. Windows XP SP1 recognizes the Athlon as a Duron 1.67Ghz. Anybody have any idea why? I did all the updates and and looked into the bios. I also did a repair. I am doubting it is the MB (Asus A7M266 bios updated to the latest) since it is recognized correctly as I bootup.

Have you updated the chipset drivers from AMD for SP1?

Q

The 1.67 Ghz speed is correct for the 2000+. I don't know why it is
appearing as a Duron.
