I have upgraded from Windows ME to XP recently. Now I have
both an owner account, and a default account under documents
and settings (I do not know why....the update did this).
When I log on, the system sees me as "Default". But I am
finding that software installs (Norton Internet Security)
wants to go to "Owner". I have to access to "Owner"????
There are many other items under "owner" that I would like
to keep. Can I somehow combine these two accounts?

Answers provided, are just make-believe, in response
to incomplete information, and therefore should
NEVER be relied on!

The Default user is not an actual user account. Its a template for all new accounts that are created. You should be logging into the Owner account.

I agree. However, I have no choice. The system is logging
me into the default account automatically. When I start the
system, it comes to the "default" desktop. What I mean by
that is when I right click Start/Explore/Documents and
Settings/default/desktop it is the desktop the system opens
to. Also same path, but instead of /desktop, the /favorites
is the favorites I have set up in I.I.

have deleted all accounts except one (Marie) through
Start/control panel/user accounts/change accounts. I did
this to simplify the tree and better be able to see what I
have left. I do not know what to do from here.

Thank you for any help you can give me
