Upgraded 98 to XP Pro -Lost auto-shutoff.

Perhaps someone can help.

I recently upgraded a Windows 98 SE Machine to XP Pro.

Now though, when I shutdown the computer, instead of just turning off, it
displays the old "Now Safe to Turn Off Your Computer" message which I
haven't seen since the first version of Win95.

Any help would be great.

I have had this happen on a motherboard due to APM or ASPI problems with
motherboard. I upgraded MB and CPU to fix. Search for MB's model number on
Google and Google Groups for ideas.

I had the same problem due to a BIOS bug. Unfortunately there is no
BIOS fix for it for my motherboard :-(
