If I were to upgrade my RAM and add a bigger hard drive,
how will that affect my XP Pro OS activation?

Will you copy everything from the old hard drive to the
new one? If you install windows XP again you should
contact Microsoft support with your XP serial number tell
them what you are up to so to avoid any problems when you
will go to activate your product over the.

You need at least 3 changes. I suggest adding the RAM, then reboot.
Then Add the new Hard Disk and reboot. You should not need to
re-activate.
