The chips used to run Windows are based on the Intel
architecture. The chips used in the Apple /Mac are Motorola
based.
The switch will require replacement of computers. Your
printers and other hardware may or may not be usable with
the different operating systems.

The Windows XP upgrade will only install on a computer
running a prior Windows OS or with the use of a prior
Windows CD as proof of prior ownership. When you say "open
license" do you mean a genuine Microsoft retail CD or did
someone sell you a pirated CD and tell you that it was an
"open (for public/corporate) use?
