After I made my last reply I got this note saying windows doesn't support my version for me to upgrade it wants me to pay for the upgrade I thought when I signed up for this 7 or 8 mo. ago I would get a free copy for contributing to the beta part. Can any one tell me what's up? Thankyou Dennis

The best thing you can do is to turn your computer off. Put it in the closet for about 12 months. After that you can load Windows 98 and start computing again.

If you have to ask what to do, then you shouldn't be using a computer!

The only folks who were eligible for a complimentary copy
of Windows Vista were those who were registered beta testers
through Microsoft Connect and submitted bugs via Connect.
You would have been notified last December. The program is now over.
Those folks who downloaded the Vista beta version from the
Microsoft Customer Program Preview web site were not eligible
as those folks were not bona fide beta testers.

Not bona fide beta testers?

Yet the ones claiming to be bona fide beta testers didn't catch any of
the bugs reported here and in other forums and newsgroups and web
sites? That's amusing. Funny actually.

And that is because they did have access (which others did not) to those private newsgroups especially set up for those Microsoft Connect Beta testers.

That's quite a leap of logic!
What makes you think the beta testers didn't catch the bugs
reported here?

what about current users? It still seems like I'm testing it and it is
still a beta if you ask me.
I've just about given up on the damn thing. My reliability is a BIG
1.0 since explorer goes "not responding" after 15 minutes of use, that
and all the other programs that don't seem to work is starting to
drive me nuts.

I know this is a new OS and I expected troubles but this is getting
ridiculous. Vista is without a doubt the most expensive piece of
software I every bought and it is by far the buggiest piece of
software I ever bought.
