Upgrade ?

I want to upgrade my 8mb video card with a ATI Radeon7000 64mb. I am
getting conflicting info and need some help. I am running xp pro and
the manual that comes with it does not say anything about removing the
old card drivers first. Just says removed card and install the new card
and drivers. But most, not all, of the postings I see state to
uninstall the old video drivers first. Is it necessary to uninstall the
old drivers first? thanks Ray

You might be lucky and get away without problems, but generally it is
very adviseable to remove the old drivers first.
 
remove the old drivers, shut the system down and change the card. Turn the
system back on and install the new drivers.
 
remove any relative software from add/remove remove the card from the device manager shutdown install new card.. reboot
get driver disk out...
