Is there a way that I can upgrade XP home to XP Pro. I currently using Home
on my laptop, but because of office work, I intend to get a copy of Pro to
install on my laptop. But is there any difficulties doing so? I heard ppl
said there is no direct upgrade. Thanks.

You can do that, install the pro cd,boot from cd,recovery,
if asked for password,press enter key,in recovery,type:
FORMAT C: /FS:ntfs
if you have trouble, enter:FORMAT /? When its thru type:
EXIT Then reboot to cd,install xp pro. This wipes out
home for clean install of pro.

Why Format C: /FS:ntfs? If do this way, this will wrip out all the existing
stuff?
So i get the XP Pro full version, and put the CD in and just install?.... i
want to keep all the existing programs and document......

Yes, use the XP Pro CD to upgrade your XP Home. It'll preserve your
existing apps, but you'll need to go out and do the Windows Updates again.
[Since you just got the PRO CD it should have SP1 included].

You might want to get the recently released "XP SP1 Roll-Up" and have that
on-hand, then you can do the roll-up as one quick local operation without
having to download all those updates. [the WinUpdate site's tool MAY be
smart enough to suggest just the roll-up on its own the first time you log
on; I'm not sure about that tho.]
