upgrade win xp home chinese to win xp pro eng

My friend using WinXp Home chinese version.
He want to upgrade the Version to xp pro english.
Shall we go for it. will it be possible.
If possible, any issues may occur?

Won't work.
You cannot 'upgrade' (AFAIK) from one language to another - even if you are
upgrading version (Home to Professional in this case.)

In order to 'upgrade' - your friend will need the Chinese version of
Professional.

However - there is nothing keeping them from performing a clean installation
of the english version (given they have a license) and 'upgrading' that way.
