I recently upgraded my 2 HP Brio BA410 from Windows 2000
to Windows XPP. The upgrade went smoothly. However, now
that I am trying to write to a CDRW disk in my HP CD
Writer 9100 (it is a samsung D4398-60051) 8x4x32, I get an
error that the disk is a hoigh speed disk or the wrong
type. I am using a multi speed 4x cdrw. I have even
tried using the windows version and that also fails.
I replaced the drive with a loaner HP Cd-writer cd16
drive. It worked fine with it. Any ideas?
I can burn to CDR's but not to CDRW's.
Both systems are displaying the same symptoms.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hello

Well sounds like during the uprade process not all went
well and sounds like maybe some corruption in your registry
could just be one of those things that happen.

This looks like one of the little quirks that shows up a lot of times
when an upgrade installation was done instead of a clean install. I
would try to possibly uninstall all software for cd burning, then
uninstall the cd drive. Reinstall the cd drive and then the software
and see if this clears it up.
