NOT possible!
You cannot upgrade Vista to Windows XP SP3.
To start with you cannot install on top of /over vista.
Also there is NO Windows XP SP3.
There is the Windows XP Service Pack 3(RC)that will install into Windows XP
but there is no and will be NO Windows XP SP3 in CD form(Windows XP WITH
SP3)on sale.
There WILL be the version 3 Service pack cd .

Vista is 'newer' than XP (including SP3) so how can you 'upgrade'? Downgrade
more likely!

The bottom line is a notification to get

Windows Information Pack which is a look-a-like of Windows Vista which
includes some of the operational features to Windows XP.

We're not going to have a 12 foot thread on the violations, misuse of name,
the sacrilege of Vista, infringements etc are we.

It was posted; some read it; some no doubt downloaded it

Lets just give it a final "IN NOMINE PATRIS ET FILII ET SPIRITUS SANCTI".

Windows Me was an upgrade to Windows 9x. Wasn't that joke?

I think the OP was using irony (or would it be sarcasm), alluding to
the widespread perception that Vista is a step backward from XP, so a
return to XP would be an upgrade.

Cool! Not one but *two* signature delimiters improperly used.

Hi Mike. I beta tested Millennium and I beta tested XP and I beta tested
Vista. Of the three Vista was the most dissatisfying OS that I worked on.

Where Vista is concerned, I would be inclined to think that a Lesser
Banishing Ritual Of the Pentagram would be more suitable for driving-out such
malign influences.

Though just to be sure, I would also invoke that most feared and
seldom-mentioned force, EXE.KSIDF to do my bidding. ;-)

Hello:

I missed the post on the "Window Information Pack" and Google wasn't very
helpful.

Where can I find info on this "Window Information Pack"?

Thanks,

No. And apparently you never gotten enough English tutoring. Don't they
give MVPs a literacy test before handing out usless TLAs?

Mike speaks American not English :-)

American? Do you mean Pawnee? Arapaho? Cheyenne? Aztec? Sioux? Black
Foot? Havasupai? Mescalero? Apache? Snoqualmie?
The United States (the Country Name speaks modern English) Lots of
languages in the American continents. And of course, French is spoken in
the northern part of America, Canada's Quebec.

Hello:

Thanks for the reply. I had been searching for a "Window Information Pack"
as posted, but found on the site that it called the "Windows Vista
Transformation Pack". That's what confused me. Again, thanks for the help.

Cheers,
O.J.

Don none of those languages are "American". America is not a Native word or
term and therefore none of the groups of people you mentioned would consider
their language to be American. Of all the countries in North and South
America only the United States uses the word "American" to describe itself
and it also describes it's language as American or, often begrudgingly as
American-English.

The only governmental group using America in it's identification is the
Organization of American States and is lead by a Secretary.

A look at the Seal of the President of the United States doesn't have the
word "America" in it. I maintain, America is the name of the continent.

You are correct that I don't know what native Americans refer to the land,
"Mother Earth"? Are Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia "Native" words?

I rationalize the occupants of a continent by comparing, the Danes, Swedes,
Dutch, Germans, French, Italians, Spaniards and others are Europeans.

The Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese, Koreans, most of Russia and others are
Asians.

It is only logical that the Canadians, the US citizens, Mexicans, Porto
Ricans, Cubans, Panamanians, Columbians, Brazilians and others are
Americans.

And all we Americans share the honor to be named under the heading of that
great Italian, (half of my origin) Amerigo Vespucci! Motto bene!

The OP issue was - "to upgrade vista to XP SP3" :-) Isn't it funny how
language (English, American,...) can be used to divert our thoughts down
not too productive paths

(BTW - 'Molto bene', unless you despatch your goods by motto-bike.)
