upgrade to XP and no internet connection

I just upgraded from Windows ME to XP Pro and now the
computer doesn't recognize my netgear wireless PCI...has
a little X over the icon.....i'm a novice....how do I get
the internet settings straight now?

You must right-click the device and click Properties. Down
below you select "Use this device (enable)". Now
your "netgear wireless pci" should work properly.
 
right click the device? where. on the task bar at the
bottom of screen the device has a red "X" through it and
the only option with right click is "exit"
