Upgrade to Windows 2000

Hi,
I just upgraded my computer, Compaq Presario 5726, from
Windows 98 to 2000 professional (I also upgraded to
NTFS). It looks like I have some compatibility problems
with my devices. For example my computer could not
recognize my printer Compaq IJ300, and I cannot reinstall
the drivers. The same thing happened with my scanner Canon
LiDE. Microsoft suggests to obtain software upgrades from
original hardware manufacture. I contacted Compaq but they
said that they cannot help me with this. I was wondering
if somebody could help me with suggestion what to do.

It is the responsibility of the product manufacturer to write drivers for
their product. If they refuse to support their product for what ever reason
you are just out of luck.
You might think about going back to Win 98 or buying a new scanner and
printer.
