It's not recommended by most people. That said I successfully upgraded from
RC2 to RTM.

Thanks for the information.

How do I upgrade from RC1 to RTM?
What are the drawbacks of RTM?

Thanks in advance, Gerhard

If an upgrade is available during the setup choose it. If it's not available
then the upgrade won't work.

I don't know of any drawbacks to the RTM version vs. any of the beta
versions.

Some of the drawbacks of NOT upgrading to the released version of Vista are:
Your present copy of Vista will stop working next summer when it reaches the
expiration date.
You cannot receive security patches, updates, and drivers for your copy of
Vista now that the final is out.
Software designed for Vista may not work on your copy.

I have Vista RC1 and can not use Roku. As I just found out, Roku works
only
with Vista (RTM), see http://www.winpcap.org/misc/faq.htm#Q-28.

Is it possible to upgrade the evaluation copy RC1 to RTM?

It's not a good idea to upgrade a beta version to RTM. Why take a chance
that problems will be migrated? That being said, unfortunately I don't know
if RC1 to RTM can be done.
