upgrade to business contact manager version 2

I installed Outlook 2003 and Business Contact Manager on a new computer. It
shows BCM version 1. My old computer running Outlook 2003 shows BCM version
2. How do I upgrade to BCM version 2?
 
I don't mean to sound flippant with my reply but why bother? BCM v.1 & 2
were both so hindered in their various beta-level capabilities and
restrictions. I would highly recommend you consider BCM v. 3 for your new PC.
It is more stable and an entirely different animal. It's FAR from perfect
but something that you may be actually able to use.

Thanks for the response. Checking the Microsoft site for BCM v3 I see that I
need to be running Small Business Server. I have been running this stand
alone on the old machine. Do you know of a stand alone version?
 
You must have misunderstood the site you read. You do NOT need to run v.3 on
a server. Most users have BCM as a stand alone add-in to Outlook 2007. It
comes packaged with either the Small Business, Professional, or Ultimate
versions of the Office System

Note below that I am running Outlook 2003. I tried to install v2 and v3 from
downloads and both failed referencing the lack of Small Business Server.

Instead I found the following link to upgrade BCM for Outlook 2003:

This link allowed me to upgrade to version 2. From there I could install
Service Pack 3.

Whether you should use BCM v2 or v3 mainly depends on what version of
Outlook you have. V3 only works with Outlook 2007.

An Tim is right about the server issue. BCM is mainly designed to run
on a single machine for a single user. Shared users were added in V2,
and V3 added support for installing the database on a server--without
Outlook, but I believe private databases are still the most common.
