Hi ,
I have a question regarding vista 64bit.
I'm running vista ultimate 32bit . Given that the hardware I have does
support 64bit can I upgrade my installation with vista ultimate 64bit ?
thanks to all

You can't upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit. You have to backup your data,
perform a clean (destructive) install, reinstall your programs, then restore
your data.

No, an upgrade is not possible with 64 Bit Vista. You would have to do a
complete format and reinstall of the OS. So, make sure you backup all your
information before you take the plunge.

Of course, jumping to 64 bit can also impact some of your software, as well.
Make sure that the software you use is 64 bit compatible or if they have 64
bit versions. I've had very few problems with 64 bit compatibility, but they
were very minor.

In addition you can use the Windows Easy Transfer program to move data and
settings. Programs will have to be reinstalled. Make sure your programs
are 64-bit compatible also as previously advised.
