Upgrade to 2k now explore.exe error and no desktop

I upgraded from me to 2000 pro and now when I boot up I
get an error message saying that explore.exe has generated
errors and will be shutdown. Consequently, there are no
icons or tool bars and no submenus on a right click.
Everything is there because I can get to the task manager
after a ctrl/alt/del see all the items that should be on
my desktop. Can any one help me with this?

There is no upgrade path from Windows ME to W2K Pro. You
need to do a clean install.
