I have office xp standard and am planning on upgrading only the outlook
application.

Should I uninstall the outlook xp application before installing the new 2003
version?

If so what files do I need to keep in order to keep my information. I backup
my *.pst files regularly but do not know if I can use these on the new 2003
or if it uses some other files(s) for it's information.

No problem. Just put in your CD and follow through the setup it will upgrade
automatically. Backing up pst-files before the setup is always a good
practise.

Please note that you can no longer use Word as e-maileditor unless you
upgrade to Word 2003 as well.

Thanks for that advice.

I did already know about the WORD issue but I am willing to do with out it.

But the main question was weather it was a good idea it uninstall outlook xp
before I install the new outlook 2003.

Is does that automatically as you can only run one version of Outlook per
Windows installation.
