Hi

I am looking at getting a new rig I am going to use my current Corsair 620HX PSU, Samsung 400GB, 250GB HDD and my Creative XI Game Blaster sound card.

I will be using the rig for gaming e.g. Crysis COD, Grid , Dirt 2.

Below is the 2 rigs that I have made up I am still undecided what one to go for?

Any suggestions on which one to get would be great, also feel free to comment on them as well.

Thanks

The AMD system probably has the edge for gaming.

I wouldn't entertain the i5 meself, would have to be the i7 ;)

Go for the above, but,

Have the Corsair ram,

loose the DVD drive, you already have one,

loose the case, you already have one,

then get this,

Spend works out about the same but you get a kick ass pc.

What is your budget and what do you actually need?

Personally i'd get the i5 rig (if you can do without HT) as they seem to clock well. If you go i7 then you gotta go tri channel ram. ;)

EDIT: what about something like....?

Hi All

Thanks for your replies,

I do really need to add a case in there as well I am currently using my Vtech unbranded case. I am now looking at getting this graphics card http://www.ebuyer.com/product/196407 Instead of the 5850. Your thoughts on this card would be great.

Budget of £700 max

Thanks

That GFX card is pants compared to the 5850

If you are building a rigg for gaming then it would pay you to concentrate spending on items that actually run games. Peripherals can always be bought later on. Thats just my take on it :)

The 5770 isn't a bad card, i wouldn't call it pants..... But its not great compared to the 5850 and obviously the price reflects its performance.

Ok Wizz, for 700 quid how about this?

Cool, be aware though, if you wanna add more RAM to that 4ghz OC bundle then you will almost certainly have to loose some off that clock. Something to think about if you want to add another 2 or 4gb later on. ;)
