hi i have been using movie maker 2 for a while now and
have found it great and had no problem's apart from it
being a little slow. just today infact i got my pc
upgraded to 512mb ram (from 256mb ram) and a new GeForce4
128mb graphics card and when i got my pc back from the
shop and ran movie maker 2 it loaded my project fine and
i clicked play, i had sound from my music and video clips
and the time line was moving but there was no video just
a black in the preveiw box. also i cant play any video
clips in my collections folder in mm2.

what can i do to get my video back?

What kind of video clips are you playing? If they are Divx encoded AVI
files, you might need a Divx codec, which MM2 doesn't obtain automatically.

Hi there,

If you changed nothing with respects to MM2, but you did change your
graphics card, then I would take a good hard look at what drivers you have
for your graphics card, for example, does your graphics card have the
correct drivers for Direct Show. Its no good assuming that your previous
installation of DirectX will work for your new graphics card, you should 1)
Make sure that you have the very latest drivers for your particular card
and once you have installed those you should then re-install the latest
version of DirectX.

Thank you so much!!!! i took your advice and got my
drivers dick and found that the guy in the computer shop
didnt install directX 9 and i asumed he did. thank you
again, everything is working great. :-)
