Upgrade Policy

I have a copy of 98SE and no longer use Windows. It may
happen that I will need to in the future so I am inquiring
as to the upgrade policy. I noticed that Windows 95 users
do not qualify to upgrade to XP and was wondering if, when
the next version is released, Windows 98 is going to be
left behind in upgrade options as well.

Mason,

We have made no announcements as to the upgrade paths for future versions of
Windows.

However, if the upgrade pattern demonstrated in the past holds, Win98 will
probably not be a qualifier for an upgrade to the next version of Windows.
Frankly, I doubt machines built for Win98 will really support the next
version anyways.

But, you never know.....

To clarify a little.
Windows 95 can not be upgraded to Windows XP.
However you can Clean Install Window XP upgrade and use Windows 95 as
qualifying media for the upgrade.
 
Oh really? Then how low does it qualify at the moment? Do
the owners of 3.1 count? :)
