asus A7N8XE-DELUX.2.6 PLUS.1024 ram.dvd writer is not working now but pc still working fine. what should i do?

Spend at least a monkey on a new computer or spend around thirty quid on a new DVDRW and carry on using what is quite a respectable machine.

Or go really mad and spend about fifty quid on a Plextor DVDRW and know that it will last for quite some time longer than them other cheaper ones.

If you're happy with your computer's performance then sure, I'd repair.

You could easily replace a DVDRW yourself, it's just a case of 4 screws, two cables and making sure the jumper at the rear is set to the same as the faulty one that's being removed.

Of course, if you really want to upgrade, that's up to you, but I'd say it's worth spending 30 to 50 pounds on your machine and keeping it for at least another year.

Depends, really, what you wanna do with it or what you're doing with it at the moment.

thanks for the replies id like to upgrade but i think i will take your advice. at the end of the day its 50 or 500

hi can i ask u a personal question about a member who is a close friend of mine his id is itsme with the cat as the pic do u you know the member i am talking about

sorry but i cant do private massaging but i think all the people that know him should talk to him if they have any thing in common as he has just lost his daughter to a rare illness but please dont take the **** as he knows as much if not more than the doctors butt that dont bring her back

eboni2 - we most of us know itsme, very well.

We all know about the recent loss of his daughter and that he recently moved house.

Not too long ago, a thread was started wondering where he'd been to lately.

We figured he just needed some time, but hopefully he'll be back.

If you're his friend, give him a phone call, I'm sure he'd apreciate it, or are you an online friend only?

Whatever, nice to know you know Itsme.

And to do Private Messaging, you need at least 10 posts.
