Upgrade hard disk. Win xp pro?

Hi all,

How do I fit a new larger HD and migrate the win installation to it? have
tried xcopy, Norton ghost and Partition Magic. All will copy the complete
disk, but none of the said copies will then boot.

Sorry if this is a common request but I am stuck.

Did you remove the old hard drive and put the new drive , with the mirrored
copy where the old drive was? You might have to do a repair install to
satisfy the safeguard requirements. Jym

Yes did try that but did not get the repair option.

the Repair Install procedure. Give that a whirl and see if you can
boot.
