When I attempt to complete the installation of XP
professional I get the message "Bad Pool Caller". I cannot
access my computer because I am unable to complete the
installation. Again, this is an upgrade from Home to
Professional version.

Hi,

BAD_POOL_CALLER usually is indicitive of a driver problem. There may be some
piece of hardware in the system that is not natively supported in a retail
version of WinXP, particularly if the WinXP Home system was preinstalled.
You may need appropriate driver sets from the system manufacturer or
hardware maker.

For that upgrade one must boot to xp pro cd,install xp,new copy,
delete the partition (xp home),create one, then let xp format and install.

Does it display a value like 0x000000c2 or the like. If so, do a google
search on that value.
