No, but you might be able to upgrade MS-DOS 6.1 to Windows Vista.

Jon
That was the best OS ever.
Would run on a Snail, with almost no memory,.
did not blue screen (EVER <g>)
You did not have to re-install if someone pulled the power cord.
It was FAST booting.

95 was crap 98 was a lil more stable but still crap... 2000 was the most
stable til XP came out with SP2...

His question is more about qualifying for upgrade pricing than upgrade
methodology. His real question is more likely "Can I use the Win95 cd to
satisfy the Upgrade installer when it asks me to prove that I own a product
qualifying for upgrade pricing?"

Before you make a snap answer, keep in mind that Win95 owners still
qualified for XP Upgrade pricing even though the XP Upgrade installer would
not run from the Win95 desktop. They had to boot with the XP Upgrade cd to
install XP. When they were asked to supply the cd for an earlier edition of
Windows, the XP Upgrade installer accepted their Win95 cds.

Keep in mind that the upgrade matrix on GetReady only addresses qualifying
for upgrade PRICING. None of us have seen an Upgrade edition of Vista. All
we have seen is the full edition of Vista, which has ugrade capabilities.
Two different things.

That does not address the capabilities of a Vista UPGRADE edition package.
None of us has seen an Upgrade edition. All we have seen are full editions
with upgrade capabilities when run from a previously installed system's
desktop. Let's wait until we see what an Upgrade edition dvd can do when
booting from the Upgrade dvd. Then we will know which Windows cd's the
Upgrade installer will accept as products qualifying for upgrade pricing.
MS has been permissive in the past. I doubt it this time, but that's only
speculation without a copy of a Vista Upgrade edition in hand to check out.

What does your statement on any Windows version have to do with the
stability of MSDOS?

I should rephrase, Colin was on the right track. I actually wanted to know
if I could satisfy the Windows Vista Upgrade editions if I had a windows 95
disc.

Anyone know?

No, I am only saying that none of us has ever seen an Upgrade sku to test
against. There are undocumented upgrade scenarios with XP as well so I am
saying until we get our hands on an Upgrade edition copy we don't know.
