I am trying to upgrade on a HP Vectra pentium II. and am
getting "WINNT32 caused an invalid page frame fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 017f:bff88396.
registers:
EAX=c00309c4" etc. etc. etc.

HP had me download and flash bios upgrades...still same
result. Had me try to remove my 448 mb of memory and put
in original 64 mb...still same result.

Microsoft provides free on line support for setups but
when requesting it they stop you when you can't furnish
product ID because you can't do setup...really dumb huh?

Someone suggested a clean install, but doesn't this wipe
out all my programs and data? That creates such a problem
that I probably would forget about the upgrade and live
with the slow, almost reliable win 98 os. If I sound
frustrated its because I am. Particularly with microsoft
not providing a means to obtain support for installing
their software.

Any help out there?

Try renaming qbconv32.dll to qbconv32.old before you do the upgrade.

This is a problem with QuickBooks.
