Upgrade from Wind. ME to Wind. 2000

Has anyone done it?I own HP Pavillion 8776c and can't
figure out if it's compatible with Windows 2000.I bought
new wireless keyboard which is only compatible with Wind.
2000 Professional or Wind. XP.PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

Yes, the upgrade has been done -- just buy W2K or XP, and follow the
instructions. It should work OK on an HP Pavilion. However, there are risks
involved in doing this, so if your question is a clue to your computer
expertise (low, right?), I would strongly urge you to take your machine to a
technician, and ask them to do the upgrade, emphasising that you don't want
to lose _any_ data. Data loss is IMO the greatest risk in any upgrade of an
OS. Applications can be reinstalled, or replaced, but data may be
irreplaceable.

You could also take the wireless keyboard back, and get a wired one.... :-)

There is no supported upgrade path from WinME to Windows 2000

Well, yes, that's true, but people have installed W2K on top of Win98. WinME
is a bug-fixed Win98, so it should work for ME as well.

Anyhow, I advised the OP to get a tech to do it.
