I have been trying to upgrade from Windows Vista Beta 2 to Vista RC1, but it
fails. I first downloaded the .iso file using the download manager, but then
after the upgrade failed, I redownloaded it without the download manager. I
reburned it to a DVD several times. I tried burning it to a DVD at 2x,
because I had found somewhere that that might help. It didn't.

The point during the upgrade where it fails is when it's copying files. It
says that there is a corrupt file, etc. Have other people been running into
this problem? What are some solutions? I've been hesitant to try a clean
install of RC1 to see if that works. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

John:

Whatever might or might not be wrong, it is pointless to burn the DVD
without checking the hash of the download.

And this is done how?
