Hi, apologies in advance for what may be a newbie question. I have the
following situation:

I have an API I want to use from Excel that requires the .net framework. I
have Vista / Excel with VB 6.5. Is there some way to upgrade VB 6.5 to VB
..net so that I can use the API from visual basic in Excel, without developing
a whole application in Visual Studio somehow?

Thanks!

You should try downloading VB.Net 2008 Express. It is free and probably
sufficient for what you are doing. You may get it at
http://www.microsoft.com/express/vb/

As to VB 6.5, I have no idea what this is. I know VB 6.0, which predates VB
..net 2003, 2005 and 2008. VB .Net is "very" different from VB 6.0, if that
is what you had.

That's IIRC the VBA version shipping with Office 2007. Basically it's the
same as the previous version of VBA.

Thanks, I didn't know about that update.
