Upgrade from one processor to two processors

Has anyone ever upgraded from one processor to two
processors in windows 200 server? I dont know if I can
just put the processor in and windows will detect it or I
need to do something to make the OS see the extra
processor. If anyone can point me to a reference that
would be great.
 
I have never used windows 200 server.

This question has been asked and answered 1000 times.. google on "2000 SMP

Me either, but on my "Windows 2000 Professional" (Retail version)
CD it says "1-2 Processor Edition" so maybe it will say that on
the Windows 2000 server CD.
