Is there a readiness test that I can run on my PC to check
the hardware/software compatibility with Win 2000?

Most useful, if you're wanting to "test pre-installation" run the
installation switch:

x:\i386\winnt32.exe /checkupgradeonly

from the Windows 2000 CD. It will generate a report for your hardware and
software without actually installing the product.
