Running Win98SE and plucking up courage to install win 2000 pro.(CD)!!

Hope I am in the correct NG here.?

Can anyone suggest what to be on guard for that took the "plunge", as
I often read here of "problems" when upgrading.!!(off putting)

What changes am I to expect with 2000.(IE, OE, etc. etc.)

Any sites for help on subject??

I accept at some stage I will have to move over, due to new App's OS
requirements, and no support for Win98.

Please, please dont suggest it is a "doddle".(damn it I'm 65)

TIA

I just upgraded from Win98 to Win2000 and am having issues with
connecting to the internet. I'm going to install Service Pack 4
(highly recommended) and I'm hoping that most of the issues I have
will go away.

You may have to reinstall some software. And, older software may not
run that well. Use apcompat.exe on the windows 2000 cd to get older
programs to install/run if you're getting an error.

IF you don't get a good answer here try posting at the forums at
lockergnome.com. There are a ton of experts there who will most
likely be able to help you out. They are a very valuable resource
(and free).

Thank 'E'

The more I here the more I am staying with what I have.
Just wish It was more convincing, without all these various 'hick-ups'
