I keep getting a blocking issue "go back" that keeps me
from continueing the upgrade to xp. I have removed
everything in program files and control panel with the
words Go Back. I restart my pc -- start the upgrade and
get as far as analizing my computer and it still comes up
as a blocking issue. How do I get by this.
Thanks

GoBack is a system recovery program that once install will prevent you from
doing an OS upgrade since it is still monitoring the HD. You must PROPERLY
uninstall it from Add/Remove then reboot your machine before trying the
upgrade. Run a search, typing in the words Roxio, GoBack and delete any
files remaining from the uninstall still remaining (look especially for a
file named goback.bin) If you still have problems, there is a command
required to release the MBR (master boot record) from the grips of GoBack
(unsure what it is)
My experiences with GoBack, both as a former and present user is that a
proper uninstall will prevent such issues.

Good luck,

Ray

Hi Wendell
Do you have Norton SytemWorks installed on your computer? It came with a
utility called go back which is a good means of reverting your hard drives
to an earlier time date. If so you don't need to remove it just disable it
by accessing it from the little rewind button you may find on your task bar.
