upgrade from 6800 to X800 XT PE

is this a good idea ? the 6800 is 128 MB DDR, while the X800 XT PE
is 256 DDR3, but shader model 2, not 3 like the 6800. I play EQ 2, and
have to tweak the settings a lot to avoid low frame rate with the 6800,
would like to use higher settings but not sure if I should OC the 6800
or just get a new card. what card for $200 USD ? maybe 300, but I am
leaning back to ATI, better image quality overall.

EQ2 is a very taxing game. What settings are you using now? Probably "high
performance", at 1024x768 with no AA. An X800XT will let you bump the
settings to "balanced" at 1280x1024.

yeah, but with custom graphics settings, mostly high, minus some
shadows, no fauna. Just not sure if the XT would be worth the money,
maybe find one used ? the PE is selling for over 300 usd new.
