Well, I too have a Dell (just bought it last November). I too was promised
an Express Upgrade to Vista Home Premium. Yet they too claim that the
drivers are not ready.
If this is so, then HOW did I download the drivers necessary for Vista from
THEIR website? Was I hallucinating all the time? Am I STILL hallucinating
this very minute? Because I got tired of waiting for them to get up to
speed, and went ahead and purchased a System Builder Kit, and installed
Vista Home Premium.
NOW they claim that our upgrade disks won't start shipping till late April.
Yet their site claims that our disks will be arriving "4 to 8 weeks after
general availability of Vista". I can count on my fingers, at least, and
"late April" is MUCH longer than "4 to 8 weeks after general availability of
Vista".
In addition, those who purchase a Dell NOW, TODAY will get Vista installed
at the factory. Is this fair to those of us who took a chance on Dell, and
ordered a Computer before Vista was available to the G.P.? Of course not.
I assure you, I won't be purchasing another Dell in the future.
And I actually BELIEVED the Dell support supervisor who just last week told
me that the reports of late April are wrong (even though they came from Dell
themselves), and the disks will probably arrive within two weeks.
Either this man was 1) Bullsh*****g me, or he was 2) lying through his
teeth, or he was simply 3) uninformed, or he had been eating too much of
that kick*** Indian hashish.
