Hello Everyone!
I want to upgrade my daughter's PC with a more powerful processor.
At the moment we have a PIII 600MHz Coppermine on a Compaq 0664h
motherboard.
I tried to find info in the web but I failed.
It would be great to get some hints where to find informatino or which
processor could fit.
Thanks in advance and
Best regards

It'll likely run any Coppermine P3 or Celeron, though it may
not be so much of a performance increase relative to
replacing whole system. Might be reasonable if you can get
the CPU practically free.
It seems that is an i810e chipset based board, which often
means integrated video. That is another weak spot on this
system if present, usurps a significant portion of the
memory bandwidth from PC133 memory.
The other issue here is that if your present memory is only
PC100, using a P3-933 with it's 133MHz FSB would mean
asynchronous memory bus speed which is only a slight
performance penalty, but that much the worse when using
integrated video.
If that system uses a passive heatsink, you may also find it
harder to keep a significantly faster (per the era of
course) and correspondingly hotter CPU, cool enough.
If the hard drive is as old as the rest, it too will be a
bottleneck to typical PC uses, and at this age is also a
potential (more likely) failure point and could be due for
replacement for both the data retention and performance
factors.
I don't know what the intended uses are (beyond what was
mentioned - WinXP), but it could be more cost and time
effective to look at replacing the whole system. As it sits
now, if it has a reasonable PSU I'm thinking it might make a
reasonable fileserver/backup/NAS system... even better with
a Gigabit NIC in it.
