I just ordered Home basic version of vista. I also just realized that
this version does not include for e.g the new interface Aero.

Is it possible in any way to upgrade this online to premium?

Thanks

Aero is not included in home basic, but if you have an aero capable graphics
card than with Home Basic the new desktop composition engine is enabled and
it's full hardware accelerated like aero (but not flip3d, no live
thumbnails).

Can you not cancel the order and make a new order?

Yes, you can use Windows Anytime Upgrade (available in the control panel) to
upgrade.

However, buying Home Basic and then buying an instant upgrade to Home
Premium is more expensive than just buying Home Premium to start with. You
should check to see if it may be cheaper to return Home Basic and buy Home
Premium as an exchange.

Note that most places will not accept software as a return if it has been
opened.

Can you order Home Premium
then return Home Basic (UNOPENED)
for credit?

I wish, by just i ment 3 days ago and it already arrived.

I did find out however that it's possible to upgrade the license(all
dvd's are the same) using 'Windows Anytime Upgrade'. Question is how
much it's going to cost....

Yes, Vista has an option of Anytime Upgrade that allows you to move to a
higher Vista package. However it is more expensive to do this than to
purchase the correct version to begin with. It would be better to return the
one you've bought (un-opened obviously) for a refund, and then buy the Home
Premium.

If it is still sealed you should be able to send it back to the merchant and
get Home Premium instead. If its unsealed then you cannot.
You can upgrade via anytime upgrade. I am not sure how much it costs but I
do know it works out more than buying Home Premium originally.

how much exactly woudl it cost?
