I greatly appreciate all the help I've received from this Forum so far and I am need of your assistance once again. I haven't yet upgraded from Me to XP b/c after I ran Upgrade Advisor it told me a few compatibility issues I will have and I'm not quite sure how to solve them. Below is what is told me: (I felt copy and paste would be much easier than my expla.)
Hardware Compatibility Issues
-----------------------------
Setup has found hardware on your computer that is incompatible with
(that is, it does not work with) Windows XP.
Hardware That Might Need Additional Files
The following hardware might need additional files in order to work
with Windows XP. Contact your hardware vendors to obtain Windows XP
compatible updates. In many cases, if a Windows XP version is not yet
available, a Windows 2000 compatible update should work. It is
recommended that you obtain these drivers in advance.
Please note that some of the following entries might be software that
is registered as hardware.

SCSI controllers
WinNT Promise Ultra133 TX2 (tm) IDE Controller
----> Now do I simply just go to http://www.promise.com/support/download/download2_eng.asp?productId=87&category=All&os=0
----> and download the first driver listed? (next)

Software Incompatible with Windows XP
-------------------------------------
Incompatible Hardware Accessories
The following programs support your computer hardware; however, they
are incompatible with Windows XP. To see whether updated versions of
these programs are available, visit your hardware manufacturer's Web
site.
Creative Labs SoundBlaster Accessories
---> Now I don't even know what that is (my speakers? I do have Sound Blaster Value Live!)
but if that's the case I'm having trouble finding any corresponding updates on creativelabs.com so if someone could be so kind to help me in that dept. I would be very appreciative.

Once again thanks for all your help

Jay;
You want the latest driver that is compatible with Windows XP.
Download and install it per the directions.
You may or may not need a BIOS for that card, but you do want to get
the latest driver.
There is a manual (last item on page) may explain procedure.

Sound Blaster comes with other applications to get more function out
of the Sound Blaster card.
Those would need to be uninstalled.
They are not necessary for card functionality but without it you may
lose some features.

Additionally you should uninstall any anti virus, anti spyware,
registry monitors and other unusual applications whether it is
compatible with Windows XP or not before you begin the upgrade
process.

Jupiter- Thanks for your help, would you mind clarifying something tho?
You said: "Sound Blaster comes with other applications to get more function out

Where do I go to uninstall those applications or even determining which ones they are. Under the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel, all I see is Sound Blaster Live! Value. Do I need to remove that and redownload the driver once I make the upgrade to XP? I would hate to lose my sound due to my ignorance. Please advise!!! Thanks again!

Jay;
The Sound Blaster Live Value would be it.
Uninstall it and try Upgrade Advisor again to verify.
You do not lose sound, you lose the extra control panel and its
features.
You can get the latest drivers from the computer manufacturer (if OEM)
otherwise directly from Creative.
But I do not think you can get the extra features, but you can check.
