Upgrade 2000 to 2003?

I am considering upgrading from Outlook 2000 to 2003. I am a home use, no
network. I use Outlook primarily for scheduling, contacts, and as my email
program. I sync with my Palm is that makes any difference. I do seem to
get a lot email spam and have been using message rules to fight it as best I
can. I understand that 2003 uses a different file format than 2000. I would
like to get some feedback as to the pluses & minuses of upgrading.
 
I would say that is is not a must have. The spam filter works fine, but
i have trouble with using it in combination with the rules that sort my
incoming mail into different bins.
Its nice that it doesnot download the pictures that are in an e-mail, so
i do not need to see al these very dumb adult pictures that are spammed
to me. You can easily get these pics btw).
It takes some time getting used to the new userinterface, but it looks nice.
I havent really discovered something I couldnot do with OL2000 that i
can do with OL2003, apart from the spamfilter.
But... I could get a relatively cheap upgrade of office 2000 to 2003
(job) and i like to keep more or less up to date and i like the
scanner/OCR in word2003 and the extra PowerPoint stuff, so...

I've heard very few good things about Office XP. I use Office XP
occasionally (word/Outlook) and I don't like it as much as Office 2000.
Office 2000 is easily the best version M$ have produced so far. My advice is
that if you don't *need* any of the features of Office XP - stick with 2000.

2000 it is. BTW are 2003 & XP the same? I though they were two seperate
editions.

Outlook 2003 is the newest version. Outlook 2002 is part of Office XP, the previous version.

Outlook 2003 is the newest version. Outlook 2002 is part of Office XP, the
previous version.
