B Bill Sanderson MVP May 13, 2006 #2 It's preferable not to use that tool. I'd recommend using the remedies in the order stated in this article first: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918355/en-us Additionally, doing a repair install--start, control panel, add or remove programs, Windows Defender, change, update--may help. This issue is something Microsoft is aware of and working on.

R Roger May 14, 2006 #3 I have tried all of the other workarounds and useing clean up has been the only reliable way for me to update. I guess that we all will have to wait for "The final answer". Thanks for your help.
