Updating

My copy of AntiSpyware keep updating from 5731 to 5739 (much faster than
normal), installing (successfully) but next time I update, it repeats the
same update. Any suggestions of how to get this update to download and
install?

In control panel Internet Options, empty your Temporary Internet Files.

Then try updating your MSAS definitions.

Tried that, thanks. Took longer to download the file(s), says its updated,
but when I reload and check, it claims to have 5739 installed but updates
from 5731 to 5839 again. Anyone know what the current definition is?

Current definitions are 5739, as of last Thursday.

Check the contents of the file:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft AntiSpyware\errors.log

to see if there are logged errors at the time of your update, and copy/paste
them into a followup here.

Also, please say if your PC lies behind a web cache (e.g. an ISP's
transparent web cache proxy, or a corporate IAS), or if you have web proxy
settings configured in Internet Options.

.I am having the same trouble so I have uninstalled the
spyware and am currently re-installing it and hope this
fixes the problem. but having read that you have the
same problem it might not have been necessary.

Error logs show nothing.
I am not using a web proxy
As to the 'transparent web cache proxy', don't know, I am using Tiscali
Broadband at 512K
Maybe it will sort out when we get beyond 5739, though this seems to be
taking longer than usual.
Many thanks
