updating the products table

I have a small database with the following tables:
Inventory, Customers, Orders, Ordered Items. I have a form
to enter customer orders but how do I get the orders form
to subtract the customer's order from my "quantityOnHand
field in my inventory table? I'd appreciate any help I can
get - I'm fairly new at this!
